Donate your old desktop or laptop

We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization. We rely on donations from the community to provide each family with a PC. Even extremely old laptops or desktops can be refurbished to a fully serviceable computer. Each donation will be assessed to determine which operating system would run ideally with the given hardware, creating a fast and reliable computer experience. Rest assured, every computer first starts off with a fresh format, to ensure that all data is completely and safely removed from your old computers, laptops, or hard drives.

Do you accept broken computers or parts?

Yes, we’ll take them. Anything can be put to use from old graphics cards, network cards, cases, RAM (memory) sticks, keyboards, monitors, mice, and more. Virtually everything will be put to use. In the event equipment is not repairable, it will be responsibly recycled at our dedicated electronic recycler.

I still have a lot of important and sensitive data on my computer/hard drive, can you erase it?

Yes, absolutely! We employ the same technologies to wipe our hard drives as the Department of Defense. Specifically, the DoD 5220.22-M standard, which is a software based data sanitation method used in various file shredder and data destruction programs to overwrite existing information on a hard drive or other storage device. Do you accept Macs?

Yes! We are able to accept any Mac computer with an Intel-based processor. Power PC computers are stripped of usable parts like, fans, memory, etc., and then responsibly recycled. Please make sure you are completely logged out of any iCloud or Apple accounts on any donated Apple products. 

Do you accept iPads, Kindles, or other Tablets?

Yes, we do! Tablets can be a vital tool for education delivery for children. Please be sure the device is not managed by another organization and that you have signed out of all accounts before donation or we are unable to use them for our families and will have to recycle them. Please make sure you are completely logged out of any iCloud or Apple accounts on any donated Apple products.

What don’t you accept?

The only items we do not accept at this time are CRT Monitors & used inkjet printers. CRT Monitors are way too large and heavy, and many families don’t even have a computer desk. In addition, we have to pay $25 to recycle them, and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Unfortunately, we do not have the budget to recycle these old, obsolete monitors. Inkjet printers can be problematic due to the cost of the ink and various repairs. Often times it’s less expensive to buy a new inkjet printer that comes with ink. We do accept working laser printers.

I don’t have any computers to donate. Can I still help?

Absolutely! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations made online will automatically generate a tax receipt for your contribution.

If you don’t have any computers or parts to donate, you can always help fund us to help these families get the tools they need. We have been able to provide over 180 families and counting with a computer. This translates to about 1115+ individuals and counting that now have easy access to a computer in their own home!
